What is it?
Wikimetro is social networking site with classifieds and ticket sales that is organized locally. You'll find people and groups locally, and share with them, and others who visit your town, things that are interesting to know about that probably can't be found anywhere else, including newspapers or social networking sites that don't focus on local information.
How do I get started?
You can jump right in by signing up. A good first step is to set up a profile page on WikiMetro. That way, your friends can learn about you,and whenever you want to post an ad or sell a ticket, people will know something about you. Start by checking out WikiMetro's Tickets, Classifieds, or Wiki.
What can I use the Wiki in WikiMetro to do?
If you know how to use Wikipedia, then you already know how to use the Wiki side of Wikimetro. Some of the common uses of Wikimetro are finding local friends and groups, posting and learning about local sites, posting local events, and posting local classified advertising.

Say you just found out that a pizza restaurant in the center of town offers a great discount every Friday from 5pm to 7pm. Chances are lots of people nearby will want to know the same thing. So, share it with everyone by setting up a page for that pizza restaurant and post that information.
Say your high school will have a football game on Friday, and everyone is welcome to attend. Put the event on WikiMetro, add a page for the school (and perhaps even for the football team), and if tickets are for sale you can sell them on ticket.wikimetro.org if that will help sales.

Is it free?
Wikimetro is completely free. If you want to post classified ads, that's free too for posting them locally, and we charge a fee for posting them statewide or nationwide. Selling tickets on tickets.wikimetro.org is free, and we charge a fee for tickets sold.
